My Valentine

Okay guys, I have some news...
I'm going to Coachella! What is this, you might be asking, well let me tell you.
Coachella is a wonderful music festival that happens during April in California. Tons and tons of very famous and talented people perform and the aura is very hippie-esque (or so I've inferred). Now, I'm fortunate enough to have a wonderful boyfriend who paid for my ticket, but I still want to save a little money for all sorts of stuff. This has led me to banning myself from online shops and so on, and that is why I must apologize for not having a Cheap Thursday for the second week in a row. To show you guys just how sorry I am, I thought I'd go ahead and show you just what project I'm currently working on for Valentines Day (which also happens to be my boyfriend and I's 6 month mark).

For this you will need:

  1. A Journal
  2. *optional* Stickers, Buttons, Gum (in wrapper), and Matches
  3. Markers, Paint, Colored Pencils, etc
Now when I do things for my boyfriend I try to make up for the fact that I'm completely broke by giving him heartfelt gifts that require my brain juices to work overtime. I can't remember how, but one day I came across Journaling Jane and saw the wide variety of creative handmade journals and knew that for $6.00 I had to get one. It's cheap and it's different, plus it's the perfect canvas for my creativity to flow. What I love most about the journals is that they come with the options of

  • Kraft Paper (ideal for scrapbooking) -30 pages
  • Lined Paper (ideal for your heartfelt stories) -40 pages
  • and Blank White Paper (Ideal for "unorganized" thoughts and doodles) -40 pages
PLUS, the selection is GINORMOUS. You can get one for that special someone, a friend, your mom, or for your own personal use. *please keep in mind that these are MINI, 5x7*

As you can see below, I picked "You are the best boyfriend because..." (buy it HERE)

And I chose the plain white paper because I thought that it gave me more leeway for expression.

Ideas.
Write "We're the perfect match" and make a heart out of matches in the center of the page

Paste in a stick of gum (still in wrapper) so that the wrapper can be opened and the gum can be taken out, use a cute little heart sticker to keep wrapper closed. Write "We're 'mint' to be"

Now for those buttons..

Due to the fear that I would run out witty and cute ideas for pages, the ones with "props" are spread out randomly throughout my book, keeping the whole thing full of surprises. I've still got a ways to go, I mean it is 40 pages! I've written a few loving words in the beginning and on the final page have a nice "Happy Valentines/6 Months" thing going on. I have a few more ideas in mind and might even share them with you later in time, sort of keeping you up to date with how this project is going.

If you have any V-Day posts please share them with me! I'd love to see them
I've made a new twitter for this blog, follow and I'll even follow back!

What are your valentines plans?
